French Hill Farm Horse Riding Academy Oregon

Is your child a horse lover? If so, our summer riding camp is just the right place for him or her. We have been running our camps since 1998 and know how to do camps successfully. Many campers return year after year, and start calling to sign up in January.

French Hill Farm summer camps are designed especially for campers ages 7-14 who wish to learn how to ride or to improve their present riding skills. Additionally, we offer Kindercamps for children 5 and 6 years of age.

Our goal is to teach the basics of riding and taking care of horses in a safe and fun environment. We feel that safety around horses is extremely important. Our school horses are carefully chosen for their ability to help people learn to ride without the fear of getting hurt. They're a very lovable group of experienced horses and ponies.

In addition to our morning and afternoon riding sessions, we spend time learning all about horses and their care. We learn to bathe horses, groom them and tack them up. Throughout the day our focus is on having fun and doing so always in a safe way.

KINDERCAMPS - 9:30 AM-12:30 - COST: $145 per session (deposit $75) please bring a snack and drink for the break time.

For 5 & 6 year olds. Each camper is assigned an experienced student from our Riding Academy. Campers are taught one on one w/ an Instructor overseeing and teaching the mounted part of the morning.

A non-refundable deposit of $75 per session must accompany the application. The balance is due no later than June 14th.

2 day sessions: June Thurs/Fri 21st-22nd, July Mon/Tues 2nd-3rd, Thurs/Fri 5th-6th

5-DAY CAMPS for ages 7-14: 9 AM to 3:00 PM - COST: $450 (deposit $225)

BEGINNER: Campers with no experience or with some limited experience are both appropriate for our Beginner camps.

ADVANCED BEG: For stronger beginners that can walk and trot that are working on canter and going over poles.

INTERMEDIATE: For students working on cantering over poles and trotting/cantering small jumps.

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED: For riders capable of jumping a 2' - 2'6" course of jumps at the trot/canter.

APPLICATION AND DEPOSIT MUST BE RECEIVED TOGETHER FOR SIGN-UP.

DEPOSIT IS $225 & IS NON-REFUNDABLE after June 1st

THERE ARE NO MAKE-UPS or REFUNDS FOR MISSED CAMP DAYS.

AUG 20-24; ***Advanced Show Camp-this camp will be geared towards setting up the riders for an away show on Saturday the August 25th. You are not required to attend the show but it is strongly suggested. The show costs are SEPERATE from the camp cost. Only accepting 6 students for this camp so sign up early!!

WHEN SHOULD I SIGN UP?

Sign up as soon as possible. Our camps fill up fast. Reservations are made upon our receipt of the completed application and the NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of $225. No reservations are accepted without the application and deposit. We will not take reservations over the phone.

***Advanced Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced riders are required to have an evaluation lesson at the price of $65 before signing up. Please call 503-678-6336 for more information and an appointment. This is not required for our Riding Academy students.

The balance of the tuition is due June 1st for all camps in order to hold a space.

CAMP COST & PAYMENT

All full day camps are $425. A deposit of $225 must accompany all applications. The balance will be due June 1st for all camps. There are NO REFUNDS of the balance for cancellation after camp season begins.
